Governor Kathy Hochul officially declared June as “Worker Safety Month” in New York State enhancing protections for Retail, Fashion and Warehouse workers statewide.
This declaration coincides with three new laws going into effect: the Retail Worker Safety Act, the Fashion Workers Act, and the Warehouse Worker Injury Reduction Program. These laws are designed to safeguard thousands of workers in these sectors by requiring employers to implement health and safety programs aimed at reducing incidents of work-related injuries and abuse.
