Catherine Wynkoop has been named a 2025 Trailblazer in Transportation by City & State New York
TRA Group, Inc. is proud to announce that our President, Catherine Wynkoop, has been named one of City & State New York’s 2025 Trailblazers in Transportation. This prestigious recognition honors outstanding leaders from across the state who are making meaningful, lasting contributions to New York’s transportation systems and infrastructure.
Catherine has dedicated her career to creating safer, more accessible, and more equitable transportation for older adults 60+ and adults 21+ with low vision. Under her leadership, TRA has grown from a grassroots effort into a regional lifeline that connects thousands of community members to critical medical care, resources, and independence through free, non-emergency medical transportation.
Since stepping into the role of President, Catherine has overseen:
- An expansion of TRA’s services across Westchester, Putnam, and southwest Fairfield County
- The launch of the Resource Hub, connecting users to hundreds of local support services
- Innovations in volunteer driver recruitment and ride coordination, helping TRA navigate a nationwide volunteer shortage locally
- Strategic investments in staff vehicles and livery partnerships to meet growing ride demand
- Increased advocacy around transportation equity, aging-in-place, and community mobility solutions
