July is National Parks Month

The National Park Service (NPS) has been entrusted with our national parks since 2016. The 400 parks vary tremendously from the glory of Yosemite and Yellowstone to the solemnity of General Grants Tomb. July is National Parks Month. Beyond the wild places, the NPS preserves our history. In New York State, with 24 designated national sites. The majority are cultural and historic, but scenic trails include the Appalachian and the North Country Trail. We even have Fire Island National Seashore and Gateway National Recreation Area.

If you’d like to explore some of the New York locations this summer you can get started in New York City which has a wide spectrum of sites to visit.
