Help your neighbors access essential healthcare services! TRA volunteers help older adults (age 60+) and adults with low vision (age 21+) maintain a good quality of life with dignity and compassion. We provide non-emergency medical rides in Westchester and Putnam Counties in New York and SW Fairfield County, Connecticut

Being A Volunteer Driver Is Rewarding

Imagine needing to go to the doctor but not being able to drive yourself there. Our riders may have low vision or a lack of
family and friends nearby to help them. Without transportation, a simple trip to the doctor can feel like an insurmountable
challenge. Your service means so much more than a ride.

Additional Benefits To Volunteers

We aim for a positive volunteer experience. These are additional benefits available to all of our drivers:

TRA will pay for AARP online or in-person Defensive Driving Class after 50 hours of volunteer driving
TRA will invite you to our volunteer social and recognition events

Here’s How It Works

It’s Easy to get started!

CHECK ELIGIBILITY

To be a volunteer driver, you need:

A valid driver’s license
Current auto registration card
NYS minimum auto insurance
To be aged 21+
A dependable, well-maintained vehicle
Be fully vaccinated and boostered against COVID-19
