Christopher Collins-McNeil of New York City, founder and principal consultant at The Collins-McNeil Group LLC, (CMG), a New York-based integrated communications and social impact consultancy, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of TRA, announced Catherine Wynkoop, President. In his new role, Collins-McNeil will help to oversee the nonprofit’s mission to help older adults (60+) and adults with vision impairment (21+) in Westchester and the region engage with their communities and live to their fullest potential.

“Christopher brings key expertise to our board in strategic communications, community advocacy, and outreach to communities of color,” said Wynkoop. “We’re fortunate to have his insights and experience as we work to ensure that an ever more diverse group of older adults has access to information, referrals, and volunteer rides to medical appointments that help them live independently and experience a good quality of life.”

About Christopher Collins-McNeil

Collins-McNeil’s focus at CMG is on working with corporations, nonprofits, and community leaders to design social responsibility initiatives and advocacy campaigns. Prior to founding CMG, he worked in media relations, communications, and digital marketing, leading campaigns for social, racial, and economic justice organizations. He was introduced to TRA by Hope Miller, the nonprofit’s board secretary, and her daughter, Jillian McRae, his favorite high school teacher in Ossining. He was inspired to get involved after learning about the organization’s critical services helping medically underserved older adults.

“As the only child of older adult parents, I think a lot about their futures. While they are healthy and active now, as they age, I’ll be responsible for their care,” explains Collins-McNeil. “It’s so critical that organizations like TRA thrive, and are supported and properly resourced. Most important, they need to have the trust and confidence of the community. I look forward to deepening TRA’s relationship to the diverse and varied needs of Black and Brown, LGBTQ, and other underrepresented communities that could most benefit from the services and resources they provide.”

Collins-McNeil started his career in the department of intergovernmental affairs in the Office of NYC Mayor Bill DeBlasio. In 2021, he was featured in BET x Doritos’ Amplify Black Voices, an ongoing initiative aimed at highlighting and investing in Black changemakers who drive culture and give back to their communities. During the 2020 election cycle, he served as a Policy Advisor to the Biden-Harris Presidential Campaign. In 2018, Collins-McNeil was recognized by City and State Magazine as “New York’s 40 Under 40 in New York Politics.” He is the recipient of the President’s Award for Special Appreciation from the founding chapter of One Hundred Black Men, Inc. and is a member of The Lincoln Center Young Patrons Circle, The Metropolitan College of New York President’s Advisory Council, and The Gathering Spot. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Oswego.
