Free Tax Return Assistance is available through AARP’s Foundation Tax-Aide with several preparation options now through April 15. Access to the different types of taxpayer assistance varies in each locality. Brief descriptions of each service type offered at Tax-Aide sites are available by selecting the “more information” link below.
You can also choose to prepare your tax return yourself, with coaching from one of our IRS-certified tax counselors or receive access to free self-preparation tax software.

In Westchester, the VITA program helps low- and moderate-income individuals and families eligible for the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) file their taxes for free. The program also provides help for people with disabilities, senior citizens, and those for whom English is a second language.
