This year is the 43rd Annual Senior Citizens Hall of Fame, one of Westchester’s Department of Senior Programs and Services’ most empowering events, with over 700 people attending. It’s a wonderful tribute to older adults who have generously given their time and energy to improve the quality of life in our community.
Susan Brown Hollander, TRA Volunteer Driver, received Special Recognition Senior Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
Susan’s professional career helped shape healthcare quality across NY state but today her most meaningful contributions happen one ride at a time. Now retired, Susan’s entire career advanced better care for older adults, from leading hospital safety efforts to building preventive services into community practices. Her 35-year career included senior leadership at IPRO, directing hospital regulatory affairs at Beth Israel and national projects at Harvard Medical School. Since retiring Susan has dedicated herself to volunteer service.
Susan meets a critical need in Westchester: providing reliable compassionate, transportation to older adults to their non-emergency medical appointments. As a volunteer with TRA she does far more than drive – she ensures older adults feel safe, comfortable and cared for during what can otherwise be a stressful experience. Susan has also served her synagogue as trustee, Sisterhood board member and Religious School Co-President.
