Alan Dindas
Alan Dindas has been a devoted TRA volunteer driver since 2013,
completing hundreds of rides that help older adults and individuals with disabilities reach essential medical appointments and stay connected to their communities. A lifelong New Yorker, Alan’s career has spanned education, public service, and corporate leadership. He began his professional life as a teacher and counselor in the Bronx before moving into senior IT management roles, including IT Director for the law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher and later for Pfizer’s Legal Division. He concluded his career as Director of Columbia University’s SPURS program, which supports minority college students pursuing biomedical research careers.
Since retiring, Alan has continued his lifelong commitment to service through TRA. He credits volunteering as both a way to honor his late wife, Rochelle, and as a meaningful source of purpose in his own life.
Through these awards, TRA recognizes the extraordinary commitment of local partners and volunteers whose compassion and generosity help ensure that no one is left without access to
essential care or connection.
