New York State Department of Health offers a “Cooling Center Finder.” This can help you locate air conditioned sites in your area to cool down during hot weather. Be sure to check the Cooling Center Finder during heat waves because some cooling centers are only activated during these events.
Call the listed cooling center before going to check if they are open. If a cooling center is not available, air-conditioned libraries, supermarkets, and malls are great places to stay cool.
