You’ve probably heard the term enhanced drivers license but may not be sure if you need one. Is your license up for renewal? The Enhanced Drivers License or as it’s also known, REAL-ID, is a federally compliant DMV issue license, learner permit or non-driver ID. If your license isn’t up for renewal you can still apply for the enhanced version or a non-drivers ID.
The Enhanced Drivers License is needed to board a domestic flight (within the U.S.) or enter certain federal buildings, unless you have a valid pass.
